Ember
Ember is the hot ash left after a fire. It's not quite safe enough to let alone, but not as intense as the flames that once were. I had this thought cross my mind the other day as I laid alone with tears in my eyes. The revival of my memories are not as fierce anymore. Yet, they simply cannot be ignored. They still cause extreme heat and pain in my heart when a flashback invades my peaceful mind - Like an ember that re-sparks and has the potential to burn an entire forest down if not cautiously attended. As much as I'd like to think I have the equipment to battle this blaze alone. I know that I am not at all.
